Bamsoet Invites Entrepreneurs To Support President Elected Free Nutrition Eating Program Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA Bambang Soesatyo, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, was officially appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Coordinator for Political and Security Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the period 2024-2029. Under the leadership of Anindya Bakrie, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to supporting the elected Presidential government programs, Prabowo Subianto, in order to improve the national economy.

Bamsoet emphasized that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has three main programs to support the Prabowo government. First, strengthen public-private partnerships and involve SOEs. Second, establish close cooperation with international stakeholders. Third, empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This was conveyed by Bamsoet after the announcement of the ranks of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jakarta, Monday 7 October.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Advisory Board, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, and senior businessman Aburizal Bakrie.

A number of figures attended this announcement, including Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board Sharif Cicip Sutardjo, and Chairman of the Business Council Chairul Tanjung. In addition, several new administrators such as Raffi Ahmad (Vice Chairman for Tourism and Creative Economy), Clarissa Tanoesoedibjo (Vice Chairman for Communication and Information), and Mulyadi Jayabaya (Vice Chairman for Agriculture) also joined.

Bamsoet, who is also the former Chairman of the MPR RI and the DPR RI, highlighted the importance of the Free Nutrition Food program promoted by President-elect Prabowo Subianto. He emphasized that entrepreneurs must provide full support for this program, given the problem of malnutrition that still affects the community. Data from the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) shows that in 2023, around 21 million Indonesians are malnourished, with 21.6 percent of children under five years of stunting and 7.7 percent experiencing waste.

One of the main causes of stunting is malnutrition in mothers and children. This contributes to the high mortality rate of mothers and babies in Indonesia. In 2022, there were 4,005 maternal deaths, and this figure increased to 4,129 in 2023. The infant mortality also rose from 20,882 in 2022 to 29,945 in 2023, "explained Bamsoet.

He added that the poverty factor was the main cause of the inability of many families to provide nutritious food. In March 2023, there were still 25.9 million poor people in Indonesia whose expenses were below IDR 550,458 per month.

The Free Nutrition Food Program from President Prabowo will greatly help tens of millions of poor people and is a concrete step in building Indonesian human resources. This is in accordance with Article 34 paragraph 1 of the 1945 Constitution which states that the poor and neglected children are cared for by the state," concluded Bamsoet.
