Here Are Some Of YouTube's Updates For Content Creators

JAKARTA - YouTube has made another significant update on its short video service, Shorts by providing an extension of the duration of up to 3 minutes.

Thus, creators can be more flexible in presenting short video creations and no longer limited to a very short duration.

In an official YouTube blog post uploaded by YouTube Director of Product Management, Shorts Todd Sherman, quoted on Sunday, the duration of Shorts which reaches three minutes can be uploaded by creators starting October 15, 2024.

"This is the most requested feature by creators, so we enjoy giving creators more flexibility to tell stories," Todd said in the blog post.

The increase in duration for Shorts will apply to videos with a square or higher aspect ratio, and will not affect videos uploaded by creators before October 15.

Later YouTube will increase recommendations for longer Shorts in the coming months.

In addition to increasing the duration for Shorts, YouTube has also made several updates for content creation.

For example, by providing templates, YouTube Shorts creators can easily follow the latest trends and adjust the recording video to viral songs or other trends.

To try tempplate, users can select the "Remix" option in Shorts and select "Use this template" to create their own version.

In addition, YouTube will also bring Veo, a qualified Google AI model to create videos into Shorts.

"The creators will be able to come up with their ideas with a more extraordinary video background and independent video clips, which will make your Shorts even more stunning later this year," Todd said.

Finally, YouTube also provides updates for users to adjust their preferences to access Shorts content.

If you feel too much, YouTube users can select the "Show fewer Shorts" option by clicking the three-dot menu at the top right of any Shorts lattice in the Home feed.

After that, users will be less exposed to Shorts content on their Homes.
