Until finally the attacks of the Pereira attack were no longer able to be held back, and made his opponent cornered in the cage. Rountree Jr fell and gave up.
This success is the third success of Pereira to defend the title of light heavyweight. Pereira became the champion after defeating Jiri Prochazka through TKO round 2 in the fight for the vacant title in New York, November 11, 2023. Before beating Rountree Jr., Pereira won over Jamahal Hill (KO 1) and Prochazka (TKO 2) in a rematch.
