Google Tests Verified Checkmarks In Search Results

JAKARTA Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company, is testing a new feature in the form of verified ticks in search results. This step aims to help users identify trusted sources and avoid fake websites that can trick users with misinformation.

According to a Google spokesperson, this tick is expected to help users to more easily recognize verified official businesses. This is done as an effort to prevent fake sites that mimic official services from appearing in search results and misleading users.

"We regularly experiment with features that help buyers recognize trusted businesses online, and we are currently running small trials to show check marks next to certain businesses on Google," the spokesperson said.

Google is currently using an automated system to identify pages with fraudulent content and prevent them from appearing in search results. However, the trial of this feature demonstrates Google's commitment to continuously increasing protection for its users.

The Verge technology site previously reported that blue ticks were visible next to the official website links of several large companies such as Microsoft, Meta, and Apple in search results. However, this feature has not been widely released and is only available to a few users.

With this trial, Google hopes to better protect users from fake site threats that can harm business reputation and trick consumers.
