List 20 Sports At Peparnas 2024 Solo
JAKARTA In total there are 20 sports (sports) that will compete in the XVII Solo 2024 National Paralympic Week (PEPARNAS).
The multi-branch sporting event for the nation's largest disabled athlete will officially open on Sunday, October 6 tomorrow and close on Sunday, October 13.
A total of 35 provinces took part in the event. So far there have been 4,386 athletes and officials have arrived in Solo City. Gorontalo will be the last province to arrive on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The participation of 35 provinces that already have the management of the National Paralympic Committee Indonesia (NPCI) is a new history on the journey of PEPARNAS.
At the previous event in 2021 in Papua, this event was attended by 30 provinces. Meanwhile, at the 2016 PEPARNAS XV in West Java, 34 provinces participated.
Chairman of the National Paralympic Committees (NPC) Indonesia Senny Marbun is happy with the presence of all participants this year after previously 21 provinces had difficulty dispatching athletes and their officials.
"But now [they are all] able to attend," said Senny Marbun in a statement received.
The details of the 20 sports that will compete are archery, athletics, badminton, boccia, chess, bicycle racing, CP football (Cerebral Palsy), and table tennis.
Furthermore, there are blind judo, weightlifting, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, sitting volleyball, tendin media, wheelchair fencing, goalball, and wheelchair tennis. The e-Sports and wheelchair basketball have exhibition status.
The matches of the 20 sports will begin on Monday, October 7th. Prior to that, the athletes and officials participated in the defile at the opening ceremony which was reportedly to be opened by President Joko Widodo.
