JAKARTA - A nutritionist from the Nutrition Service Installation at the National Central General Hospital, Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Firlianita Ahdiyanti, S.Gz, reminded that instant foods, although it seems unsample, still contain high preservative sodium, minerals found in salt.
"A lot of hidden salts such as fried foods, chips, savory foods, of course, contain a lot of hidden salt," Firlianita said, as reported by ANTARA.
Instant foods or fast foods such as potato chips also contain hidden salt so they need to be watched out for. The Ministry of Health, he continued, advises people to consume no more than one teaspoon of salt per day or 2,400 milligram sodium, as part of a balanced nutritious diet in order to maintain normal or healthy weight, the body is not easily exposed to infection, work productivity increases and is protected from chronic diseases.
According to research from the University ofwas Medical Centerrising, one pack (about 8 ounces) of potato chips with salted and freshwater flavors contains about 1,191 milligrams of sodium. Meanwhile, within 100 grams of cornets there is about 1,250 milligrams of sodium.
Speaking of a balanced nutritious diet, it also includes daily consumption of sugar, which should not exceed four tablespoons a day. Like salt, people, added Firlianita, are also reminded of hidden sugar in foods and drinks that are often not realized.
"Hidden sugars that are often not realized, such as bread, cakes, drinks, contemporary coffee drinks with an average of four-five tablespoons of sugar for one regular cup," he said.
In addition, said Firlianita, refined sugar, whether in the form of sugar palm, brown sugar, or stone sugar, still contains simple sucrose or sugar.
