Political And Economic Stability Encourages Jokowi's Public Satisfaction To Remain High

JAKARTA - Based on the results of a recent survey from several well-known survey institutions, including the Kompas Research and Development Agency, public satisfaction with Jokowi's performance shows a positive trend. The Director General of Information and Public Communication (IKP) of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), Prabu Revolution said that the political and economic stability in Indonesia in the last three months was considered as the main factor in why the level of public satisfaction with the Jokowi government was still high.

"Political and economic stability has enabled the Jokowi government to complete various priority programs, including infrastructure development and digital transformation whose benefits are directly felt by the community," he said at the 9th Merdeka Barat Forum (FMB9) with the theme One Decade Leading Indonesia, More than 70 Percent of the Public Satisfied, Friday 4 October.

According to him, the success in maintaining stability is also reflected in economic growth which reaches an average of 5 percent, even though Indonesia has just come out of the Covid-19 pandemic and is facing global economic uncertainty.

Prabu gave an example of infrastructure development such as the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train which cut travel time to only 30 minutes and extraordinary digital transformation in the Jokowi era.

"These are all extraordinary achievements whose benefits are felt directly by the community," he said.

In addition, this success cannot be separated from Jokowi's memorable leadership style and impressions on the hearts of the people. This is a factor that adds to the public's satisfaction with Jokowi that is always high.

"Jokowi has a unique leadership style and is very close to the community, this leaves a deep impression on the hearts of the people," he added.

With this maintained economic policy and leadership style, President Jokowi managed to record significant achievements until the end of his term of office. This high public satisfaction shows appreciation for the various breakthroughs that have been made, as well as being valuable capital for the next government.

Not only that, the positive trend of public satisfaction with Jokowi is also inseparable from the fact that the middle class people are not significantly affected by the excitement in cyberspace. Prabu assessed that there was a high disparity between public satisfaction in cyberspace and the daily real world.

Moreover, Prabu also emphasized that policies and regulations by the government related to social media are not an effort to limit the public from expressing themselves. But more to ward off fake news or hoaxes that are scattered on social media.

"The regulations made are not to limit freedom of speech, but to keep the digital ecosystem healthy and the information received by the public is correct and useful information," he said.
