2024 Suhandinata Cup: Indonesia Qualifies Dramatically
JAKARTA Indonesia qualified for the final of the 2024 Mixed Team Junior World Championships or the Suhandinata Cup after facing Japan in a dramatic duel.
Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari and her friends only won five 110-105 points in the semifinal match which took place in Nanchang, China, on Friday, October 4, 2024, evening WIB.
The women's doubles pair Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine who took part in the first party brought Indonesia 11-6 ahead of Mikoto Aiso/Rin Ueno.
Men's singles Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah then took part in the second party. He was forced to play tight against the opposing team's singles, Kazuma Kabano, who was able to score 10 points in their duel.
Indonesia's advantages are maintained in the third party featuring the mixed doubles Darren Aurelius/Bernadine Anindya Wardana. This pair made the points wide to 11 when they met Rui Yamada/Mikoto Aiso.

The double-digit distance of the points was also maintained by the women's singles Mutiara who played in the fourth match against Mion Yokouchi. The duel between the two players ended at 44-34.
However, six games after that the points between Indonesia and Japan really went tight. Indonesia's advantage distance always stands in one digit only.
Japan even cut points twice to four. This situation occurred in the fifth party 55-51 and the eighth party which ended in the 88-84 position.
The furthest points during that period were seven at 66-59 when Isyana/Rinjani played the match against the couple Ririna Badmintono/Aya Tamaki.
Meanwhile, Indonesia will face China in the final which will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The clash will be the toughest party for the Red-White squad.
