Kadin Prepares National Conference To Overcome Internal Dynamics

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held a consolidation meeting with 238 Extraordinary Members (ALB) on Thursday, October 3 to strengthen coordination and preparation for the National Conference (Munas) IX Kadin.

This consolidation meeting affirmed the commitment of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Board to carry out an agreement between the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arsjad Rasjid, and the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie, and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia which was held on Friday 27 September.

Deputy Chairperson for Association and Association of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wisnu W Pettalolo said that an agreement had been made between Arsjad Rasjid, Anindya Bakrie and Bahlil Lahadalia to find a solution to the internal dynamics of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"In the midst of the internal dynamics currently underway, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to carrying out the mutually signed agreement on September 27, 2024. This agreement aims to maintain organizational integrity and ensure the sustainability of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a strategic partner of the government in the economy," said Wisnu through a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara.

According to the agreement, the solution to the dynamics in Kadin is to hold a National Conference after the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto. For the time and place of implementation of the National Conference, it is adjusted to the direction of the government.

According to Wisnu, Kadin at the central and regional levels will focus on becoming a strategic partner of the government in encouraging inclusive, sustainable, and just economic growth for all Indonesian people.

"With solidity and togetherness, Kadin is ready to work together to face future economic challenges in order to realize the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045," he said.

This meeting is also to ensure that all ALBs are ready to participate and can use their voting rights in the National Conference. According to him, the meeting was held so that all ALBs can become active members and participate as National Conference participants through the National Conference convention process which has been regulated in accordance with the provisions of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's AD/ART and Presidential Decree Number 18 of 2022 (Keppres 18/2022).

Thus, the entire ALB will go through a registration, verification and convention mechanism as part of a transparent and regulatory process.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Logistics and Forwarder Association (ALFI) Akbar Djohan said the entire ALB had coordinated well and was ready to actively participate in the upcoming National Conference.

"The convention process that will be carried out inclusively invites all parties to organize a valid National Conference and in accordance with the organizational regulations based on Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2022," said Akbar.
