Gmail Facilitates Package Tracking And Reservation Management

JAKARTA - Google is upgrading one of the most useful features in Gmail, namely the Summary cards, to make it easier for users to find important information regarding travel, reservation, and package delivery. This feature now gets a more modern user interface view, with a new action button, as well as the addition of a special section in the inbox.

Summary cards in Gmail leverage machine learning technology to collect important information from aviation-related emails, hotel bookings, package delivery, and more. This information is displayed in the form of a card at the top of the relevant email, so users can easily check important details quickly.

Recent updates include an action button that allows users to perform various direct actions of the card, such as tracking the package, adding events to the calendar, sharing invites with friends, getting directions to the event location, and adding bill payment reminders.

In addition to the display update, Gmail will also introduce a new section called "Happening soon" that organizes the Summary cards of all emails in one place. This will eliminate the need to open each email separately.

In the early stages, this section will feature Summary cards for purchases, and Google plans to expand them including travel updates, bills, and future events.

Currently, Google is releasing updated Summary cards for purchases on Gmail for Android and iOS devices. Cards for events, bills, and travel will roll out in the coming months in conjunction with new sections of "Happening soon". Updated Summary cards will also be available in future Gmail searches.
