GoPay Presents Split Bill Features, Sharing Bills Makes It Easier

JAKARTA - GoPay, a Financial Technology business unit from PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia (GOTO) launched a new Split Bill feature in the GoPay application, to help users share bills separating payments when shopping for something.

Head of Gopay Wallet Kelvin Timothy said that the launch of this feature was based on his personal experience, which often felt awkward to collect payments from his friends.

Interestingly, Kelvin found that the problem was not only felt by him, but also felt by many people. Therefore, this feature will help us to share bills in accordance with the nominal expenditure in receipts, as well as taxes borne.

"So, it turns out that when we surveyed several GoPay users, that was the problem too, not only for ourselves. Oh, I think we can make split bills, because GoPay can pay, it can also transfer," Kelvin said at the launch of the Split Bill feature on Thursday, October 3 in Jakarta.

Powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, this feature has several advantages such as calculating each person's bills automatically and taxes, by simply taking pictures of bill receipts.

After sharing the bill with each person, the Gopay application will automatically send notifications to users whose names are listed in the split bill, through the Gopay, GoJek, and also WhatsApp applications.

After that, you can immediately pay the bill directly using Gopay balance. Or, if you don't have a balance in Gopay, you can use a Virtual Account (VA) or Bank Jago balance.

"The payment is not only a gopay balance, you can use a Bank Jago balance, you can also pay using a virtual account. Copy the virtual account to other banks," said Kelvin further.

You can try this feature through the Gopay application on iOS and Android. If you haven't seen this feature, you need to update the app to its latest version.
