Daop 8 Surabaya Notes Foreign Tourists Using KA Capai 8,196 People In The Third Quarter Of 2024

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya noted that the number of foreign tourists using rail transportation services at Malang Station in the third quarter of 2024 reached 8,196 customers.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Luqman Arif said the number of passengers from foreign tourists in the third quarter was higher than in the second quarter of the same year.

"Based on our data, in the second quarter of 2024 there were 4,799 foreign passengers and in the third quarter there were 8,196 customers or an increase of 3,397 customers," Lukman said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 3.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2024, train customers from foreign tourists reached 3,210 people.

He explained that foreign tourists mostly used rail transportation at Malang Station in August 2024, reaching 3,269 customers.

"Then the next order will be in July with 2,625 customers," he said.

When calculated from the first to the third quarter, or from January to September 2024 it reached 16,205 customers.

That number increases when compared to the same period in 2023.

In the same period in 2023, the number of foreign tourists using train transportation at Malang Station was 12,123.

This means that with the accumulation of the number of passengers for foreign tourists using train services at the station in the first to third quarter of 2024, 4,082 customers increased from the same period in 2023.

"This positive trend shows an increase in the trust of all parties, including foreign customers for KAI services that are safe, comfortable, comfortable, and on time," he said.

The majority of foreign customers use the Tawangalun train long-distance connection between Malang Kotama-Ketapang, Malabar train, Malang-Bandung connection, and Jayabaya train, Malang-Surabaya-Pasarsenen connection.
