The Story of Pearl Girl tells the story of Duan Wu (Zhao Lu Si), a pearl diver from Hepu who meets Yan Zi Jing (Liu Yu Ning), a businessman from Xiyu, and Zhang Jin Ran (Tang Xiao Tian), a humble man.

He joined Yan's entourage and started a journey full of struggles as he entered the world of jewelry.

However, during his trip to the northwest, he revealed the secret of his life and was entangled in an attempt to take revenge on Yan Zi Jing. He suffered the loss of close relatives and betrayal by his loved ones.

Duan Wu knows Yan Zi Jing is related to these two things. Therefore, he chose to change his name to Su Mu Zhe, Duan Wu by daring to explore Yangzhou to pursue the truth.

However, an incident brought him together with Zhang Jin Ran so he refused to be controlled by hatred. Release the past, he teamed up with Zhang Jin Ran and faced a tough struggle with Yan Zi Jing.
