Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Once Reminded Hasan Nasrallah To Leave Lebanon Before He Was Killed
JAKARTA - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had warned Hezbollah leader Syyed Hassan Nasrallah to leave Lebanon days before he was killed in an Israeli attack.
Moments after the attack on the trapkeeper Hezbollah on September 17, Khamenei sent a message with envoys to appeal to Hezbollah's secretary-general to leave for Iran.
This information cites intelligence reports stating Israel has agents within Hezbollah and plans to commit murder, one of the sources, a senior Iranian official, told Reuters.
The envoy, said the official, was a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, who was with Nasrallah in his bunker when his bunker was hit by an Israeli bomb and was also killed.
Khamenei, who has remained at a safe location in Iran since Saturday, personally ordered about 200 missiles to be fired at Israel on Tuesday, October 1, a senior Iranian official said.
The attack is retaliation for the deaths of Nasrallah and Nilforoushan, the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement.
The statement also cited the killing of Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh in July in Tehran, and Israeli attacks in Lebanon. Israel has not yet claimed responsibility for Haniyeh's death.
