2024 Suhandinata Cup: Indonesia Brings Good Record Before India's Opponent

JAKARTA The Indonesian young badminton team brought a slick record ahead of India's opponents in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Mixed Team Junior World Championships or the Suhandinata Cup.

The top eight will take place at the Nanchang International Sports Center Gymnasium, China, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 15.30 noon local time.

The team manager, Rionny Mainaky, said that Indonesia needed to increase its fighting power even though it appeared so dominant during the group stage.

"Tomorrow the field must be hot, ready to fight. Field control must be good and consistent. Enthusiasm and fighting power are added," said Rionny.

Indonesia won a total of all or four matches during the group stage. In a row the Red-White Team defeated Macau, North Mariana Islands, Sri Lanka, and Poland.

The result automatically made Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari and her friends continue their journey. The reason is, only group winners are entitled to tickets to the knockout round.

Rionny said that the strength of the men's and women's singles in India should be watched out for by Indonesia. According to him, they are much more competitive than the opponents in the group stage.

"Indian men's and women's singles have quite good quality. Beyond that, they also have high fighting power. So, children must be vigilant," he said.

If they qualify for the semifinals, Indonesia will meet the winner between Japan and the United States. The United States made a big surprise by defeating Thailand in the last match of Group H with a narrow score of 110-107.

On another chart, China will face China Taipei and Malaysia meet Denmark. One of these four teams will be Indonesia's opponents if it penetrates the final.
