2024 Suhandinata Cup: Indonesia Qualifies Quarter Finals
JAKARTA The Indonesian young badminton team successfully qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2024 Mixed Team Junior World Championships or Suhandinata Cup after confirming itself as group winners.
Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari and her friends locked the position after winning over Poland 110-63 in the last match of the Group F phase at the Nanchang International Sports Center Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, afternoon WIB.
In this match, Indonesia's advantage was opened by the men's singles Bismo Raya Oktora. He locked a very narrow two-point victory 11-9 against the singles against Mateusz Golas.
"I was tense because I participated in the first party. I had to be able to enjoy the match more and relax even more for the future," said Bismo in a statement received from PBSI.

The points were then made wide 22-15 by the men's doubles pair Dexter Farrell/Wah Agung Prasetyo who played in the second match against Mikolaj Morawski/Krzysztof Podkowinski.
After that, Indonesia continued to outperform Poland's points in a match that spent a maximum of one hour and 30 minutes.
In this life and death match, Indonesia rested two men's singles mainstays, namely Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah and Richi Duta Richardo.
The decision was bold because Poland and Indonesia both packed three wins before this duel. Therefore, Indonesia must win considering that only group winners are entitled to qualify for the next round.
Coach Nunung Subandoro said that with the quality of the four men's singles who were brought to this event, the level was not much different, so he dared to make the decision to rest the two names.
"Although the party decided, after being evaluated, it was not underestimated, whoever was sent down I believed they could contribute points. This is part of the strategy," said Nunung.
In the quarter-finals Thursday, October 3, 2024, Indonesia will face India, who is the winner of Group E. The match will be held at 15.30 local time.
"In the quarter-finals tomorrow I am optimistic that we can get through well," said Nunung again.
