Golkar Denies 'Tukar Guling' Chairperson Of MPR With Ministerial Regulation
JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Golkar Party DPP Sarmuji denied that his party had "exchanged over" the seat of the chairman of the MPR with a ministerial seat in the upcoming Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet.
"So if Golkar gets a lot of ministers, yes it's not because of this exchange, exchange it, but Pak Prabowo knows very well that many people in Golkar are in thezaken category as Pak Prabowo wants," said Sarmuji as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.
He said that if his party gets many ministerial seats in the upcoming cabinet, it is because the Golkar Party has many of its cadres who are technocrats.
"Actually, it's not about changing, yes, but I believe Pak Prabowo really knows the condition of Golkar which is filled with many technocrats, people whose political careers are forged in technology," he said.
Sarmuji even hopes that the party bearing the banyan tree will get more than five ministerial seats in the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet.
"I pray more (than 5), but we don't know how much Pak Prabowo wants, but I hope that my prayers can be more so that the Golkar Party can contribute in real terms to the community," he said.
