Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Orders KPU Site Security To Be Improved

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto ordered related parties to improve cyber security systems for various KPU sites, especially those related to the results of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"We have gathered everything to keep the cyberspace from being disturbed and not disturbed," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.

The two institutions that have Hadi's trust in keeping the digital space democratic and not causing disturbances to public security and order are the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo).

Regarding the conduciveness of social media, Hadi divided the threat landscape into two, namely misinformation and polarization.

Hadi said the two threats must receive higher attention because there is currently spreading hoaxes and provocations.

"We have gathered all journalists, the media, to anticipate and implement strict controls, so that this misinformation does not trigger a rift in the unity and integrity of the nation," said Hadi.

In addition to optimizing the KPU cyber security system and maintaining the conduciveness of social media, Hadi said that the Government is also trying to detect and manage action plans and mitigate every dynamics in society.

Optimizing the cooling system, unity, and integrity efforts through approaches to religious, community and traditional leaders is also taken by the Government to ensure the safety of the 2024 Pilkada.

The government has also formed a regional election coordination desk consisting of 19 ministries/agencies that will be involved in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

"Thus, it is hoped that various problems that can become obstacles in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada can be coordinated and resolved as well as possible," said Hadi.
