Allegations Of Cutting The Allowances Of Supreme Court Justices Of IDR 90 Billion Reported By IPW To The KPK

JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) reported the alleged deduction of the allowance for Supreme Court justices to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). It is suspected that they did not get their rights as regulated in PP No. 82 of 2021.

"We report allegations of corruption in cutting honorariums for handling cases that are the rights of Supreme Court justices based on Government Regulation Number 82 of 2021, Supreme Court justices have the right to receive honorarium for handling cases that can be terminated within 90 days," said IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 2.

This piece, continued Sugeng, made the judges only get 60 percent of the total allowance that should have been received. This fund is then said to have been diverted for various reasons.

"There is about 14.05 percent given to support teams such as case clerks, room young clerks, staff.... There is 25.95 percent that is not clear," he said.

Sugeng said evidence of cutting the judge's income had been submitted to the KPK. This report is expected to be handled soon.

"Is there an allegation of corruption in this cut," he said.

Sugeng said IPW had asked the Supreme Court (MA) to confirm the alleged cuts. However, their excuse was that the judges volunteered and agreed.

Thus, IPW feels that the KPK needs to intervene. Moreover, the nominal value is quite large, it can reach tens of billions in two years.

"If we count roughly, the two-year rough count is around Rp90 billion," he concluded.
