Komnas HAM Asks The Palu Police Chief To Be Sanctioned In The Case Of The Death Of A Prisoner
PALU - The National Human Rights Commission Representative of Central Sulawesi asked the Kapolda to impose sanctions on the Palu Police Chief in the case of the death of a prisoner.
"The police chief should be given sanctions in this case," said Head of Komnas HAM Representative for Central Sulawesi, Dedi Askary, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.
He explained that the leadership's responsibility was contained in the National Police Chief Regulation Number 4 of 2005 concerning Detention Management at the Indonesian National Police Detention Center.
"Based on the level of responsibility of the position, it is not limited to the perpetrators who are examined ethically and professionally," he said.
According to Dedi, the National Police Chief Regulation Number 4 of 2005 is very clear, two or three levels above the main actors, namely the guard chief, the police chief and the police chief must be processed ethically and professionally.
"You can't just be the main actor because there is a responsibility in that case," he said.
