Ministry Of Transportation: NIK-Based KRL Tariff Subsidy Cancels IMPLEMENTation Next Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) ensures that the population identification number (NIK)-based KRL tariff subsidy will not be implemented next year.

The Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Risal Wasal, said that there had been no changes in the issue of reducing the subsidy budget in 2025.

"There has been no change (KRL subsidies in 2025)," he said when met at the Ministry of Transportation office, Jakarta, written Wednesday, October 2.

Regarding the NIK-based KRL subsidy plan, Risal said that it was still under study. Even so, Risal emphasized that until next year, the policy would not be implemented.

If (the NIK-based subsidy) is not yet. That means, we are not there yet. Still in the study, it is still under study for the NIK (based subsidy). Not yet. Not yet (will be implemented in 2025)," he said.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Joni Martinus said that as a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, of course KAI Commuter will comply with all types of decisions taken by the government through the Ministry of Transportation.
