Badung Police, Bali, revealed the motives of the two brothers Adhitya Delvansha Snae (27) and Roman Ardianshah Snae (20), the perpetrators of throwing Molotov cocktails at the laundry because they were triggered by heartache and revenge.

Badung Police Chief AKBP Teguh Priyo Wasono said the two perpetrators threw Molotov cocktails at I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Puspa Ariana's laundry business near Mengwi Terminal, Badung, Bali.

"The perpetrator's motive is that he is accused by the laundry owner of disturbing the victim and being beaten, so he tries to take revenge by inviting his younger brother," he said, Tuesday, October 1.

The two perpetrators are brothers from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The role of the two is that Adhitya's brother was the perpetrator who assembled the Molotov, while his younger brother Roman played a role in helping his brother throw Molotov cocktails into the laundry to cause the fire.

In carrying out the action, the two perpetrators used two bottles of beer filled with Pertalite fuel oil (BBM), then used tissue as an axis. Furthermore, two bottles of Molotov cocktail were burned with the axis.

Then the two perpetrators threw Molotov cocktails at the victim/soundry so that the two Molotov cocktails exploded.

As a result of the incident, a Nining Purwaningsih laundry employee (39) was injured as a result of being hit by fragments of laundry engine materials and sparks.

Teguh said the incident occurred on Sunday (22/9/2024) at around 23.40 WITA.

Initially when witness I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Puspa Ariana arrived at his place of business, the witness saw the suspect Adhitya disturbing a witness employee named Nining Purwaningsih who was getting ready to close the laundry.

Seeing that, the witness immediately approached the two brothers, resulting in a quarrel.

"During an argument, the owner of the laundry had hit the perpetrator Adhitya once," he said.

After the quarrel, the next day when Bagus Puspa was about to close the rolling door laundry on Monday (23/9) at 00.30 WITA, the witness saw Adhitya and Roman standing in front of his laundry so that the owner returned to approach the two brothers who worked as drivers.

At that time, the perpetrator Adhitya took out a sharp weapon from the back of the waist and pointed it at the witness. Seeing that the perpetrator took out a sharp weapon, Bagus Puspa took the iron roll door hook at the cashier's desk to protect himself.

This made the two perpetrators run to the flower garden that divides the Mengwi Terminal highway. It turned out that was when the younger brother assembled the Molotov cocktail. Next, two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the laundry at the same time, causing the flames to explode.

A laundry employee named Nining Purwaningsih who was at the scene was hit by an explosion, causing the woman's left hand to be injured.

Teguh stated that the owner of the laundry had tried to chase the sister, but because he saw that his place of business was on fire, he refused and preferred to save the laundry and employees in the laundry station.

Luckily, the flames did not erode the entire laundry building. However, some of the items have been burned down, such as clothes, pillows and clothes.

Bagus Puspa also reported the incident to the police. The Badung Police Satreskrim Opsnal team who had received the report conducted an investigation by looking for the boarding houses where the perpetrators lived in the Mengwitani area, Badung.

Officers in the field received information that the two perpetrators worked as drivers in the Mengwi Ship Area, until they finally managed to secure Adhitya at work.

Adhitya admitted that he had acted with his younger brother Roman who lived at Kos Jalan Ahmad Yani, Ubung, Denpasar. Next, Roman was summoned to the Badung Police through his cousin David. At the police station, the younger brother also admitted his actions.

"From the results of the examination, it was known that Adhitya did this because she felt hurt and was accused of disturbing employees and being beaten by the victim so that she tried to take revenge by inviting her sister," he said.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 187 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) on intentionally causing a fire or explosion, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
