KPK Investigate The Role Of 6 Witnesses Regarding The Management Of Mining Business Permits In East Kalimantan

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the role of parties suspected of being related to the processing of mining business permits (IUP) in East Kalimantan.

Six witnesses were examined by investigators, including Muhammad Reza as Head of the Mining and Coal Section at the Kutai Kertanegara Energy and Mineral Resources Office in 2014 on Monday, September 30.

"Investigators are investigating the IUP licensing process at the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and the role of witnesses in the licensing process," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, October 1.

In addition, Tessa detailed the five witnesses who were also examined with the initials MS, NU, NS, RIR, and SA. Meanwhile, from the information obtained they are:

1. Mustaqim as an honorary staff in the Technical and Development Division of the Energy and Mineral Resources Service of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government;2. Norhayati Usman as Head of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government;3. Nursigit as a retired civil servant or Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Environment Agency on June 7, 2018-1 December 2018; 4. Riza Indra Riadi as Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Environment Service in 2011-2018; and 5. Sandy Ardian mining consultant PT Dinar Energi Utama.

"The examination was carried out at the East Kalimantan BPKP Representative Office," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

The anti-corruption commission will actually examine other witnesses, namely Rudiansyah as the Head of the Promotion Division for Economic Facilities or the Head of Administration for the East Kalimantan Provincial Government for the 2011-2016 period. However, Tessa said investigators failed to ask for information from him because he was absent.

"Witnesses did not come without information," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK said it was investigating allegations of corruption related to mining business permits (IUP) in East Kalimantan. The investigation was carried out since 19 September.

In this case, three suspects have been named. The KPK has also searched a number of locations in East Kalimantan, including the house of former East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent three people from leaving the country. They are AFI, DDWT, and ROC.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, two of them are Awang Faroek Ishak and his son, Dayang Dona Walfiares Tania or Dayang Donna Faroek. Prevention is carried out for six months to facilitate their request for information.
