Government Reviews PDN Development In Batam, It Still Takes 3 Years
JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said that the government is reviewing aspects of the environment and security of the National Data Center (PDN) development in Batam.
According to Budi, this step was taken in preparation for the development of the Batam PDN going well with the safety of the facility location which will support the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).
"If this is the National Data Center, the preparation is the environment, everything needs to be calculated," Budi said in a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Office, quoted Monday, September 30.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria also revealed that the review of the PDN development in Batam was aimed at accelerating the ongoing process.
According to him, the development of the Batam PDN is currently in its early stages. And if targeted, it will likely take another three years for the construction process.

Meanwhile, launching InfoPublik, the Acting Mayor of Batam, Andi Agung, expressed his full support for the National Data Center (PDN) development plan.
"We fully support the construction of the National Data Center in Batam. For adjustments to the Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) related to the development of this PDN, it will be adjusted immediately so that it is in line with the needs of this project," said Andi.
The Batam City Government welcomes the central government's decision to designate Batam as one of the locations of the National Data Center. The location of the PDN will be built in the Nongsa area with an area of 5 hectares that has been prepared.
