Melonak, Arsjad: Kadin Is Not About Who The Chairman Is, But How To Contribute To The Nation And The State

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid suddenly softened after meeting Bahlil Lahadalia with Anindya Bakrie or Anin who is the General Chair of Kadin as a result of the 2024 Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub).

Arsjad no longer insists on questioning the validity of Anindya Bakrie as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry who has shifted his position as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 2026.

He said his meeting with Anin had produced a solution to overcome the dualism of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's management.

According to Arsjad, the matter of the management of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is not about who serves as the highest leader. However, he said, entrepreneurs must be solution and wise and beneficial for the community.

"Entrepreneurs must be solution and wise. Don't make mistakes, especially when conditions are not okay. Apart from looking for money, entrepreneurs must benefit the community, the business world and the Indonesian economy," said Arsjad as quoted from the video upload on the Instagram account @kadin.indonesia.official, Monday, September 30.

Currently, Arsjad believes that the issue of the chairmanship of Kadin should not be the main focus. He emphasized more about the importance of Kadin's contribution to the nation and state.

"Well, now it's about Kadin, here. Remember the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is not about who the general chairman is, no. But, how can Kadin contribute to the nation and state because in the eyes of the public, it's as if Kadin is not one more," he said.

"I don't care, ah, it confused many people," he continued.

The man who was born on March 16, 1970, said that in the face of the dynamics that is currently happening in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, there are two solutions that can be taken. First through the court.

In court, Arsjad said it would be discussed one by one from articles, violations to sanctions that might be imposed.

Second, through deliberations that are said to reflect the values of the Indonesian nation.

"The second is through deliberation, like the value of our nation, deliberation and consensus. We gather, visit, discuss, listen to aspirations. It's more fun, right? Entrepreneurs must be role models. Obey the law, obey the rules and integrity," he concluded.

Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as well as the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, succeeded in bringing together two figures from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arsjad Rasjid and Anindya Bakrie. The relationship between the two heated up after fighting for the seat of Chairman of Kadin.

This is as in the upload of Bahlil Lahadalia's personal Instagram social media account @bahlillahadalia. In the upload, you can see a photo of Bahlil with Arsjad and Anindya shaking hands and discussing it.

"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon I brought together two of my good friends, Mr. Arsjad Rasjid and Anindya Bakrie," Bahlil wrote on his personal Instagram account, quoted on Saturday, September 28.

On this occasion, Bahlil emphasized that the meeting was a commitment to unite the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to remain solid.

"God willing, we are committed to keeping the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry intact and solid," he said.
