LRT Velodrome-Manggarai Line Tested Today
JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) conducted a trial track for the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai route on Monday 30 September. Before the trial was carried out, PT Jakpro had checked the route in detail.
"We are very focused on every detail of preparations to ensure this trial runs smoothly and according to high safety standards," said PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Group Technical and Development Director Dian Takdir in a statement last Saturday.
He explained, until the third week of September 2024, the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT construction project had reached 29.17% of the target of 6.4 kilometers (km) of the Velodrome-Manggarai route with the construction of a 1.2 km track.
Dian added, before the trial is carried out, his party will ensure infrastructure readiness, including lanes, track work (tracks) and other operational support devices. This was done with KSO (PT Waskita Karya Tbk, PT Nindya Karya and PT Len Railway System)
"As part of this preparation, after all the inspections are completed, there will be a transfer of the operational platform for the LRT Phase 1A at Velodrome Station from the west side to the east side," he said.
The transfer, according to Dian, is to align the operations of the Jakarta LRT in the long term. "We are optimistic that this trial will be a positive step towards the completion of the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT construction," he said.

He added that the trial of the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT line would be carried out using an Extraordinary Train. In addition, trials were also carried out using the MRV (Maintenance Rail Vehicle) and an LRV (Light Rail Vehicle) series.
The Jakarta Phase 1B LRT project is carried out from two sides, namely the Velodrome-Pramuka zone and the Pramuka-Manggarai Zone. Development aims to support Manggarai Station as the central station for Jakarta transportation. The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) targets the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai to operate in 2027.
