Messi Becomes A Rescuer, Inter Miami Draws Again Detained By Charlotte FC
MIAMI - Argentine star Lionel Messi appeared as a savior after the only goal he scored in the 67th minute brought Inter Miami to a 1-1 draw against Charlotte FC, in Week 31 in the American Football League (MLS), Sunday 29 September afternoon WIB.
Messi scored with his left foot kick. When he received the ball, he took one more step to get the angle of the shot. The ball curls near the left post, making Kristijan goalkeeper Kahlina chase, but unable to parry it.
This result is not expected by Inter Miami despite qualifying for defeat. The reason is, in the last two matches, they must share points with Atlanta United (2-2), and New York City (1-1).
Coach Tata Martino, who wants to finish the series of matches with unsatisfactory results, in this match fielded his strongest line-up. Apart from Messi, the hosts of Inter Miami also played Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez, and Jordi Alba in the starting lineup.
They dominated the game, controlled 61%, fired 21 shots, with 8 of them on target. Meanwhile, Charlotte FC only fired 9 shots with 2 shots on target.
Despite having a lot of possession, Suarez constantly failed to score. Messi had some good passes and two good chances to open the scoring but failed.
In the first half, Messi's shot hit goalkeeper Kahlina and his second shot hit the post. In the 51st minute, Messi fired a left-footed shot at Suarez's pass but was unable to beat Kahlina.
Six minutes later, Charlotte FC took the lead through Karol Swiderski's long-range shot.
