Airlangga Said That He Encouraged The KEK Of Bali Turtles To Become A Catalyst Of Technology And Innovation In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The government has responded to the development of digital technology so rapidly by implementing policies that support the use of digital technology in various sectors in the national industry.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the Government had also launched the National Digital Economy Framework in 2023 by projecting artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors to become the core component of Indonesia's current and future digital economy strategy.
"We need to be grateful for Indonesia's demographic bonus, but the condition is that the demographic bonus must provide productivity. And to do that, the Government facilitates special education, re-skilling and up-skilling, and world-class education. Among them is the existence of Tsinghua University in the Special Economic Zone for the Kura-Kura Bali to be expanded and deepened," he said in his statement Sunday, September 29.
Meanwhile, the sharing knowledge and networking activity was held in collaboration with the National SEZ Council, SEZ Kura-Kura Bali, Tsinghua Southeast Asia, and the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII).
Airlangga also said that the activity was to collect all stakeholders of the Bali Kura-Kura SEZ, namely the Government, academics, and industry players.
"So this important meeting is really important, because this is Indonesia's baby step to be in the AI and semiconductor ecosystems," said Airlangga.
The UID Bali campus itself has become a forum for various collaborations in sustainable leadership and education programs between UID and Tsinghua Southeast Asia (TSEA).
Airlangga also gave directions so that in the Kura-Kura Bali SEZ an economic campus can be built which can be the heart of life and the intellectual brain of the Bali Kura-Kura SEZ.
This campus can be the core of human resource development. Especially for the development of human resources in eastern and central Indonesia," he said.
Airlangga said that if he could develop the Tsinghua campus in Indonesia and accommodate not only from Java, but also from the middle and east, this would be a catalyst for technology and innovation in Indonesia.
On this occasion, Airlangga emphasized that technological transformation is the key to unlocking the potential for Indonesia's economic growth by accelerating three economic machines, namely revitalizing conventional economic machines, moving new economic machines, and strengthening the Pancasila economy.
In addition to initializing and launching the Roadmap Making of Indonesia 4.0 to revitalize the manufacturing sector and transform into a great power in the fourth industrial revolution through technological transformation.
In the chairmanship of ASEAN 2023 Airlangga, Airlangga has also launched a Digital Economic Framework Agreement (DEFA) in an effort to improve the economy in the ASEAN region.

Every development of AI and semiconductors behind it is dozens of humans. So this will actually add jobs with different skills," concluded Airlangga.
