Indonesia U-20 Vs Yemen U-20: Just Need A Series, But Don't Be Careless!

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team will face Yemen U-20 in the last match of Group F of the U-20 Asian Cup Qualification at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, Sunday, September 29, 2024.

The match will determine the qualifying of Garuda Muda for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup final which will take place in China on 6-23 February 2025.

Indra Sjafri's foster children actually only need a draw because they are currently still at the top of the Group F standings.

Indonesia U-20 and Yemen both packed six points from two wins. However, Garuda Muda excels in goal difference, +6 compared to Yemen's +5.

Even though it only needs a minimum draw, Indonesia U-20 still has to carry the target of three points so as not to be careless.

The opportunity for Young Garuda to win the group and qualify for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup finals is also great.

Yemen is not worthy of fear after fighting Timor Leste U-20 and the U-20 Maldives. Moreover, Indonesia U-20 is in high motivation to qualify for the final round in front of its own supporters.

"Thank you to all the players. That means we already have a point with a goal difference of lead (from Yemen). There is only one match (against Yemen) to qualify for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup," said Indra Sjafri on Friday, September 27, 2024.

"After all, we have to be ready for the third match. Yemen and Indonesia both have six points. In terms of goal difference, we are better off," he said.

Similar optimism also slid from the mouth of one of the U-20 Indonesian players, Muhammad Ragil.

The striker, who contributed a goal in the match against Timor Leste, promised to go all out in the last match against Yemen.

"For me, my motivation is that I have to learn from this game (against Timor Leste) so that I can focus on fighting Yemen."

"What was lacking earlier, I will work even harder to fight Yemen later. Hopefully we will get three points," said the Bhayangkara FC player.
