Parts Of Indonesia Expected Light Rain Will Be Hit

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in Indonesia have the potential to be hit by light rain on Saturday.

BMKG forecaster Maria Klaudiana in the BMKG Weather Forecast video, quoting Antara, said that there are 21 areas that have the potential to be hit by light rain, namely Jambi; Palembang, South Sumatra; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Serang, Banten; Jakarta; Bandung, West Java; and Semarang, Central Java.

"Light rain also has the potential to hit DI Yogyakarta; Surabaya, East Java; Denpasar, Bali; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB); Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan; Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Gorontalo," he said.

Next, Maria continued, Manado, North Sulawesi; Makassar, South Sulawesi; Ternate, North Maluku; Ambon, Maluku; Jayawijaya City, Papua Mountains; and Nabire, Papua also have the potential to be hit by light rain.

In addition to light rain, Maria also said that a number of areas have the potential to be hit by rain accompanied by lightning and lightning, namely Medan, North Sumatra; Padang, West Sumatra; and Pekanbaru, Riau.

"Next, moderate-intensity rain has the potential to hit Lampung; Bengkulu; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; and Sorong, West Papua," he said.

Meanwhile, in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara and Manokwari, West Papua, BMKG predicts that the weather conditions of the two areas will be cloudy.

"Then, Samarinda, East Kalimantan are forecasted to be thick cloudy, while Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan and Jayapura, Papua are foggy," he said.
