The Bocimi Section 2 Toll Road Operates Again After Being Closed Due To Landslides

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) ensures that the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Section 2 Toll Road has been operated again after the landslide handling.

Head of BPJT Miftachul Munir said the Bocimi Toll Road Section II of the Cigombong-Cibadak section at km 64+600 and km 66+200 had started operating without tariffs on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

"We have received reports regarding the handling of landslides from TJT and after a field review by the Directorate General of Highways and BPJT and a recommendation has been issued from the Directorate General of Highways, then the Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road Section II section can start operating without tariffs on September 24, 2024," Munir said as quoted from the official Instagram @pupr_bpjt, Thursday, September 26.

As for the handling at the landslide point, a number of works were carried out, one of which was the construction of the pile solver, repairing the pile slopes by installing the erosion control mattress and Solid Sodding.

To be known previously, in April 2024 there was a landslide on the Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road Section II of the Cigombong-Cibadak section and caused the toll road to be closed during the permanent handling of the landslide site.

As a result, during the permanent handling period, vehicles passing from Sukabumi to Ciawi or vice versa must enter / exit through the Cigombong Toll Gate and then continue the journey using arterial roads.

As additional information, the Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road has a total length of 54 kilometers (km) which is divided into 4 Sections, namely Section 1 Ciawi-Cigombong along 15.35 km has been operating since December 2018. Then, Section 2 Cigombong-Cibadak along 11.90 km has also been officially operational since August 2023.

Meanwhile, Section 3 Cibadak-West Sukabumi along 13.70 km is currently in the construction stage with 11.56 percent progress, while Section 4 of the East Sukabumi-East Sukabumi along 13.05 km is in the preparation stage.

The Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road, which has been connected from Ciawi to Cibadak, can cut the travel time faster from Jakarta to Sukabumi for only 2 hours to 2.5 hours. Previously, the travel time could reach 4 hours to 5 hours through arterial roads, which are traffic jams such as Cicurug, Parungkuda and Cibadak.
