YOGYAKARTA Ahead of the general election campaign for regional head candidates (Pilkada), the existence of campaign props (APK) is quite important. Not only for running candidate pairs but also for the community. However, the installation must be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. The APK is usually allowed to be installed in all places of origin, not violating the rules that have been set. The rules governing locations prohibited from being installed by the APK are Articles 70 and 71 of Law (UU) 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.

It should be noted that the rules for installing the APK can be adjusted in each region considering that conditions in each region are different. This is regulated in the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) No. 23 of 2018 concerning General Election Campaigns.
It is said that the installation of the APK must pay attention to the rules made by the Regency/City KPU. Regarding whether or not the location is allowed to be fitted by the APK, you can consider recommendations from the local government and Satpol PP.
One example is the Yogyakarta City Government which issued Yogyakarta City Mayor Regulation (Perwal) Number 65 of 2024, an amendment from Yogyakarta City Regulation Number 75 of 2023. The regulation regulates the APK and election campaign materials as well as the election of mayors and their representatives.
Based on Yogyakarta City Mayor No. 65 of 2024, there are several locations that cannot be installed by the APK in the Yogyakarta City area, namely as follows.

The prohibition also applies in North Square, South Square, Ngayogyakarto Palace, Sewandanan Square, Puro Pakualaman District, and all spaces of road benefits in front of it.
Public facilities are also prohibited from being used as locations for the installation of the APK, namely hospitals, health centers, schools/messages, universities, places of worship, Hero's Cemetery, and government-owned buildings.
