OPPO Won't Launch Three-fold Phones In The Near Future, Here's Why
During a communication meeting at one of OPPO's flagship stores, Liu Bo explained that OPPO has conducted research on tripled devices in the past, but has not seen a significant market demand for devices with this form factor. According to him, the main focus of OPPO at this time is to improve the quality of main products, such as smartphones and other important accessories.
Liu Bo emphasized that there is a lot of room for improvement in the existing product category, and OPPO prefers to prioritize development in the area rather than exploring new forms such as triple phones.
Although Huawei managed to attract attention with their triple innovation, the product is priced at a very high price, reaching more than $10.000, and is currently only available in China. This reinforces OPPO's view that triple devices are currently more of a technology exhibition than products that are ready to be mass marketed.
In addition, OPPO sees challenges in developing this technology so that it can be well accepted by the wider market. They prefer to wait for clearer technological developments and market demand before considering participating in the triple foldable phone trend.

While OPPO chose to delay, Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch a triple device by 2025. The triplet model Xiaomi has been listed in the IMEI database and is predicted to be released in 2026. According to reports, Xiaomi is working on three different triple designs, with some of them likely adopting a unique fold mechanism. Additionally, this Xiaomi device is rumored to be one of the first in the industry to not use physical buttons at all.
While the triple device may still be far from OPPO's plans, the company is currently focusing on launching its newest flagship series, Find X8, which is scheduled to arrive on October 21, 2024. This series is expected to bring a variety of more practical innovations for consumers, in line with OPPO strategies that focus more on quality and improvement of existing products.
Although the triple-fold phone trend has attracted attention, especially with the launch of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, OPPO remains cautious in entering this market. With priority on improving key products and developing more mature technology, OPPO doesn't seem interested in following the triple trend in the near future.
