A Teacher In Gorontalo Who Went Viral With His Student Becomes A Suspect
GORONTALO - Investigators of the Gorontalo Police Criminal Investigation Unit have named a teacher (57) in Gorontalo Regency, as a suspect in a sexual violence case against his students after video recordings were circulating on social media.
Head of Sub-Directorate for Public Relations of the Gorontalo Police, Kompol Henny Muji Rahayu, said that currently the suspect has been detained at the Gorontalo Police Station and is undergoing further investigation.
"Regarding who recorded and disseminated the video, we are conducting an investigation," said Henny as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 26.
From the results of the examination of the suspect and victim, the immoral act was first carried out in 2023, in one of the teacher's rooms in the school.
"At that time, the victim felt uncomfortable and tried to refuse and resisted the teacher, but because of the 57-year-old man's persuasion, finally the act happened repeatedly," he said.
This case was only revealed after the video of immoral acts was widely spread on social media.
"The suspect will be charged with Article 81 paragraph 3 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning child protection, with a minimum threat of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years," he said.

His party appealed to the public not to participate in distributing the video.
"If it is still stored on the cellphone, we ask that the video be deleted and never disseminated. It's a pity that the victim's future is still long," he said.
