East Java Police Arrest BTS Theft Syndicate In Madura-Banyuwangi
The East Java Regional Police arrested four BTS (Base Transceiver Station) tower theft syndicates in the Banyuwangi and Madura areas.
Head of Sub-Directorate III Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Jatim AKBP Arbaridi Jumhur said the four people arrested by the perpetrators were ASH (30) a resident of Pamekasan Regency, Madura; MHA (22) a student from Pamekasan Regency, Madura; RWT (46) a resident of Surabaya City and ASN (28) a student from Jombang Regency.
Jumhur, as he is known, said ASH was a former worker at the tower's target.
"Because he had worked there, ASH carried out the action smoothly, namely opening the tower's contact door with a master key. And attaching the door open-diswitch magnetdoor to turn off the alarm. So that ASH managed to revoke two UBBPs and SFPs in the tower," he said.
The disclosure of this case, said Jumhur, after a report was made on August 6, 2024, the alarm board on BWI 457 Kendenglembu Hamlet, Karangharjo Village, Glenmore District, Banyuwangi Regency was not in position.
After checking, it is true that there has been a loss in UBBP and SFP equipment at Telkomsel Tower.
A similar incident, continued Jumhur, occurred as well as the theft of UBBP in the Telkomsel network BTS tower in Pamekasan Regency. The SFP theft continued to be installed at the site id 16SPG0096 of the R-CM mid-Bina R-CM, Sokobanah District, Sampang Regency.
"The theft of communication networks in this tower was carried out by ASH who acted as a picker. Meanwhile, MHA acted as a driver and supervised the location of the theft site," he said.

Not only that, but someone has bought the stolen goods from the perpetrators. Namely the perpetrators with the initials RWT and ASN. Both bought the stolen goods from the perpetrators ASH and MHA.
"One unit of UBBP G2 and one unit of UMPT G2 are sold by the perpetrators for IDR 1,650,000," added Jumhur.
The evidence that was secured included one Daihatsu Sigra car, one magnet, two master keys, two cut tang, two UBBP units and one SFP 10 GB unit.
"The perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code and 480 of the Criminal Code concerning criminal acts of theft by weighting (stricts) and criminal acts of evil conspiracy/confessors," he said.
