Toni Kroos Also Annoyed The Controversial Referee Anthony Taylor

JAKARTA - Anthony Taylor was released from the position of referee for the Premier League following his controversy in the Brighton vs Nottingham Forest match last weekend.

Taylor, who was on duty at the time, the fourth referee whispered to the main referee Robert Jones to issue three red cards and seven yellow cards.

As it turned out, the party wasn't the only one full of controversy when Taylor was on the pitch.

Previously, he had recorded a record 14 yellow cards in the Bournemouth vs Chelsea match on September 15, 2024. In the aftermath, Taylor no longer leads as the main referee, but has been the fourth referee since then.

Anthony Taylor's name has indeed been included in Nottingham Forest's poor record after rejecting three penalties during his loss at Everton in April 2024 or last season's Premier League.

In addition to his controversy in the Premier League, Anthony Taylor was also hated when he was on the Euro 2024 referee list. Sure enough, he made a debated decision in the quarter-finals when Germany faced Spain.

Taylor did not give a card to Toni Kroos who pulled hard from behind Rodri. Then, he also refused a penalty when Marc Cucurella was caught on camera doing handball in an attempt to block Jamal Musiala's shot.

The decision angered UEFA officials because Taylor's mistake was considered fatal. Rejecting a German penalty at Euro 2024 was a wrong decision.

Now, Anthony Taylor will neither be the main referee nor assistant throughout the Premier League this season. He has been officially relieved following his online abuse last weekend.

However, the schedule for leading Liverpool's match against Wolverhampton on September 28, 2024 is still not clear.

Interestingly, the news about Anthony Taylor reached the ears of Real Madrid player Toni Kroos.

Although not in direct contact with Taylor because of the different leagues, Kroos is still really hurt at Euro 2024.

"It took them three months to realize that there is a handball, something almost everyone can see in a second."

"That really convinced me. Can I say that I am now the European Champion (Euro 2024) because it has been officially confirmed? I don't think so," Kroos quipped.

After the Euro 2024 quarter-finals, Cucurella admitted that the ball hit her arm, but Taylor immediately told her it was not a foul.

"The ball hit my hand, but the referee immediately said no, no, no, and it made me feel better."

"If the referees say it's not a handball, then it's not a handball," Cucurella said at the time.

Meanwhile, the Premier League's decision to cross out Anthony Taylor was fairly appropriate. You see, the name of the Pelontos referee was recently crowded with UEFA officials.

A report from the UEFA Referee Committee, which leaked in Spain, condemned Taylor for not giving Germany a penalty in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

The official UEFA report made it clear that Taylor was wrong.

"Following the latest UEFA guidelines, hand contact to the ball that stops the shot into the net should be punished harder."

"In most cases, penalty kicks should be awarded, unless the defender's arm is very close to the body or hit the body."

"In this case, the defender stopped the shot against the net with his arm, which was not too close to his body, so it grew. So, a penalty kick should have been awarded," the UEFA report reads.

Anthony Taylor is one of the most senior referees in UEFA. However, all over Germany already hates it.

Just look at the time UEFA plans to appoint Taylor to lead the Euro 2024 final. A strong reaction from supporters appears.

A total of 32,000 fans signed a petition refusing Taylor to become the final referee for Euro 2024. As a result, the judge failed to lead the final party and returned to England.
