Macau Open 2024: Dejan/Gloria Qualify For Quarter Finals

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja qualified for the quarter-finals of the Macau Open 2024.

Dejan/Gloria continued their journey in this tournament after winning easily 21-8 and 21-12 over the Chinese Taipei pair, Po Li Wei/Chang Ching Hui, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, afternoon WIB.

In this duel, there were no obstacles encountered by Dejan/Gloria throughout the first game. They started by giving birth to three consecutive points.

The opponent then cut the distance to only one point difference. However, Dejan/Gloria immediately responded with seven consensus figures to stay away.

The distance between the two pairs did not shrink anymore after that. Indonesian representatives then closed the first game with six consecutive points.

In the second game, chasing numbers occurs only in the initial eight points. After the 4-4 position, Dejan/Gloria immediately stepped on the gas with six points.

The opponent then got closer to 8-11. However, Dejan/Gloria again moved away with five numbers later and the opponent was made increasingly helpless.

Dejan/Gloria who are present as the third seed in this tournament will then meet the eighth seed from Thailand, Rutanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat.

The duel was their second competitive clash. Previously in the first round of the Japan Open 2024 in August 2024, Oupthong/Jhenicha came out victorious.
