Inaugurated By Jokowi, This Is A Series Of Facts About The Balang Island Bridge Connecting To IKN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated the Balang Island Bridge in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, on July 28, 2024.

This bridge is one of the important infrastructures that is the main access to the Nusantara Central Government Core Area (KIPP) in IKN, East Kalimantan.

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways also revealed a number of facts related to this bridge.

Quoted from the official Instagram upload @pupr_binamarga, Thursday, September 26, it was stated that the Balang Island Bridge is located in East Kalimantan which connects Balikpapan City and North Penajam Paser Regency.

Then, this bridge has a cable stayed type, which is the second longest in Indonesia after the Suramadu Bridge.

Next, this bridge has been built since 2015 and completed in 2021 with a total length of 804 meters.

Finally, this bridge was built in a strategic location as a supporter of IKN connectivity which is connected to the IKN Toll Road and crosses IKN VVIP Airport.
