Yili Indonesia Dairy Distributes 80,000 Liters Of Clean Water To Overcome Drought In Sukamukti Village, Cikarang

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that several areas in Indonesia have the potential to experience drought during the dry season, so they need preparedness. One of the affected locations is Sukamukti Village, Cikarang, West Java.

A total of 1,395 families with a population of 3,921 people in the village were affected by drought. To help the local community overcome this, PT Yili Indonesia Dairy provided 80,000 liters of clean water to help meet clean water needs in Sukamukti village.

President Director of PT Yili Indonesia Dairy, Yu Miao said, Sukamukti Village is a village whose existence is close to the company. The drought conditions that occur certainly have an impact on people who are also factory employees.

"We took the initiative to distribute clean water for daily needs to meet the needs of the local community and encourage a healthier life. This distribution is assisted by village officials and carried out collectively at the village hall," he said, in a written statement, Wednesday, September 25.

Furthermore, Yu Miao added, this CSR activity is routinely carried out every year and is part of the company's social responsibility to the environment around the production area.

"Previously, we have also taken part in planting 1,000 trees in the Delta Mas industrial area, Cikarang. We have also collaborated with various parties such as BPOM and GAPMMI to be involved in mangrove planting in the Angke area, North Jakarta. We have also helped the recovery of victims affected by landslides in the Bojongmangu, Sukamukti, Cikarang areas. Of course, Yili's commitment to environmentally related programs does not only stop here and will continue," he explained.

Sukamukti Village Head Cikarang, Samid said, village conditions are indeed vulnerable to drought due to geographical conditions.

"We are grateful to PT Yili Indonesia Dairy who is responsive to caring and helping us in dealing with problems in the Sukamukti village environment. With the assistance of 10 water tanks with a capacity of 8,000 liters each, the need for clean water for community daily activities can be met," said Samid.
