President Jokowi Grateful For Well-maintained Harmony And Tolerance

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admits that he is grateful that the values of harmony and tolerance in Indonesia are still well maintained.

"When we feel that in this modern era there is still war, sometimes if we think normally, how come there are still new civilizations in modern civilizations, there is still war," said President Jokowi in his remarks during a meeting with the Association of Religious Harmony Forums throughout Indonesia (AFKUBI) at the State Palace. President Jokowi gave an example of the conflict between Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestinian. In fact, recently the conflict in the Middle East also expanded between Israel and Lebanon.

Therefore, President Jokowi emphasized that harmony and tolerance are very, very valuable in any country.

Indonesia, said the President, should be grateful because it still maintains harmony and tolerance well.

"Whether it's in Ukraine, be it in Palestine, this is added now to the war in Lebanon, thus making what is called unity, called harmony, which is called tolerance, it is very valuable. Very high value in any country and we should be grateful in Indonesia these values are harmony, tolerance, unity can still be maintained very well," said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi also appreciated AFKUBI for contributing to maintaining inter-religious harmony and tolerance in the country.

"This FKUB association is a valuable legacy of our nation that we must continue to cultivate, we work together well by prioritizing dialogue, both by instilling a sense of tolerance from an early age and fostering religious moderation values," said President Jokowi.

"I really appreciate, appreciate the role of FKUB so far in maintaining a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere, a harmonious atmosphere so that our unity and integrity as a nation is well maintained and well maintained.
