Bamsoet's Pantun At The Final Session Of The MPR, Alludes To The Strong Banyan Tree Standing Despite Being Hit By A Storm
JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo chaired the final session of the MPR term at the Nusantara building, today's parliament complex.
Before opening the trial, Bamsoet had conveyed a rhyme that alluded to the fact that the banyan tree remained standing even though it was hit by a devastating storm.
The rhyme seemed to remind again some time ago, there was something surprising that hit the Golkar Party. Where Airlangga Hartarto suddenly resigned as chairman and was replaced by Bahlil Lahadalia.
"Cenderawasih birds in the Irian forest. Fly over the clouds. We thank you for the presence of ladies and gentlemen," said Bamsoet at the opening of the final session of the MPR term, Wednesday, September 25.
"The banyan tree at the crossroads stands tall despite the storm and typhoons. Allow us to hold a final trial of the term of office, to submit performance reports and draft decisions," he continued.
Bamsoet is grateful, during the five years of the MPR session for the 2019-2024 period it went smoothly. As an Indonesian nation, he said, everyone should be grateful for having passed various challenges and tests.
"We as members of the MPR also have an important role in facing these various national challenges, the role of all MPR members in building the nation's character through the socialization program of the four pillars of the MPR RI, namely Pancasila as the basis and ideology of the state, the 1945 Constitution as the constitutional foundation of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, as the national consensus, as well as the sananti Bhineka Tunggal Ika as the unifying in the diversity of the nation is very important in building and knitting our Indonesianness," said Bamsoet.

Bamsoet explained that the final plenary session of the term of office held today was the result of an agreement on a joint meeting of the MPR leadership with the leaders of the Indonesian factions and DPD at the MPR on Monday, September 23, 2024.
At the joint meeting, the leadership of the MPR and the leadership of the faction and the DPD have agreed on two draft decisions. First, the MPR regulation on rules. Second, the draft MPR decision on the MPR recommendation for the 2019-2024 period which will be submitted to the MPR for the 2024-2029 period.
"To explain the substance of the two draft decisions, the panel provided an opportunity for the chairman of the MPR Assessment Agency to submit a report on the draft regulations regarding rules and draft decisions regarding the recommendations of the MPR for the 2019-2024 period," said Bamsoet.
