Ahead Of The Mandalika MotoGP, InJourney Airports Receives 23 Requests For Extra Flight Jakarta-Lombok Routes

JAKARTA - InJourney Airports noted that it had received 23 requests for additional flights or extra flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The request is for the period from September 23 to October 1, 2024 or before and after the Lombok MotoGP event.

MotoGP Indonesia will be held this week, precisely from 27 to 29 September 2024 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

"Soekarno-Hatta Airport has received a request for 23 extra flights from airlines on the Jakarta - Lombok (take off and landing) route," said InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi in an official statement, Tuesday, September 24.

Faik said flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport for the Jakarta-Lombok route during this period were projected to reach 193 flights, both take off and landing.

"Or an increase of about 12 percent compared to normal conditions of 170 flights," he explained.

Furthermore, Faik said the number of passenger movements on the Jakarta-Lombok route from September 23 to October 1 is estimated at 32,406 passengers for departure and arrival.

"All personnel and staff of the InJourney Airports airport are ready to ensure the smooth operation and service at the airport to support the success of the 2024 Indonesian MotoGP world-class event," he said.

Previously, it was reported that InJourney Airports had prepared three main supporting airports for the Indonesian MotoGP event. Especially for Lombok International Airport, it will operate 24 hours to accommodate the high flight ahead of the MotoGP event.

InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said as many as 37 InJourney Airports support the success of MotoGP, where three airports are the main supporters, namely Lombok International Airport, Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Tangerang Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Especially from September 15 to October 1, 2024, Lombok International Airport operates 24 hours to accommodate the high number of flight traffic," said Faik in an official statement, Tuesday, September 24.

Faik said that currently his party had received additional flight requests or extra flight of more than 70 flights from four airlines.

"There has been a request for 74 additional flights (extra flights) from 4 national airlines from September 22 to October 1, 2024," he said.
