Pertamina Introduces Clean Carbon-Based Business Process At AJP 2024
PT Pertamina (Persero) introduced a clean carbon-based business process at the 2024 Pertamina Journalism Award (AJP), to accelerate Indonesia's goal of realizing zero carbon emissions (Net Zero Emissions/NZE) in 2060.
Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso in his statement in Indramayu, West Java, Tuesday, September 24, said that to introduce Pertamina's business that encouraged NZE, his party held socialization of AJP and site tours to several facilities owned by Pertamina in West Java on September 22-24.
He said one of the facilities socialized at AJP 2024 in West Java, namely the Java 1 Power Steam Gas Power Plant (PLTGU).
"Pertamina has operated the largest PLTGU in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 1,760 megawatts with the latest single-shaft combined gas turbine (CCGT) technology to save electricity production costs," said Fadjar, quoted from Antara.
He conveyed that the Java 1 PLTGU was also an important achievement and at the same time added a portfolio for the use of clean energy in Pertamina's business, considering that the electrification facility was able to reduce carbon emissions by up to 3 million tons.
Fadjar further said that in AJP 2024, especially in West Java, Pertamina through Subholding Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (PNRE) also provided explanations regarding the implementation of carbon neutral and compensation by means of carbon credit.
