Former Guitarist Of The Outlaws, Freddie Salem Dies After Struggling With Cancer

JAKARTA - Freddie Salem, a musician known as the former guitarist of The Outlaws, has died at the age of 70. The news of his death was shared through Freddie Salem and Lonewolf's Facebook page on September 23.

"This morning, the open sky welcomed the arrival of a legend. How dare you, Freddie Salem. Until we meet again," wrote the account.

Outlaws also paid tribute to the former guitarist. They remember Freddie as a dedicated figure in music.

In the statement, Freddie is said to have died after experiencing complications. He has also been known to be battling cancer.

"It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell Outlaws fans about the death of our former guitarist Freddie Salem. Freddie died of complications from cancer and will be remembered for his friendly personality and love for music. He is a loved player and musician and he will be missed," wrote The Outlaws.

Freddie joined Outlaws in 1977 and contributed to the release of four of their studio albums. He also briefly released a solo album in 1982 entitled Cat Dance.

In 1983 Freddie made a big decision by leaving the band. He claims their label has let go of the band, making the situation even more difficult for the relevant parties.

After no longer banding with Outlaws, Freddie Salem is involved in various music projects. But his behind-the-scenes interest is also quite large, so he enjoys a lot of his time as a music producer to a venue manager.
