Whale Ethereum Transfer 15,000 ETH To Kraken

JAKARTA - Recently, an Ethereum whale (ETH) known as the nickname "Diamond Hand" attracted the attention of the crypto community by moving 15,000 ETHs to the Kraken exchange. This large transaction, valued at around 38.4 million US Dollars (around Rp582 billion), is seen as an important signal in the market, especially as this whale is known to rarely sell its assets and prefers to hold assets in the long term.

Based on a report from the Spot On Chain blockchain analytic platform, on September 22, 2024, the anonymous whale with the wallet address 0x682 made a massive ETH transfer to Kraken, one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world. The whale, dubbed Diamond Hand, is generally known for holding its assets, regardless of market fluctuations. However, this time, the decision to move large amounts of ETH sparked speculation about the possibility of a change in Ethereum price in the near future.

This kind of large transaction is often a concern for investors because it can have an impact on market prices. Interestingly, this is not the first time this whale has made significant moves. Previously, this whale had moved 10,000 ETH to Kraken on July 25, 2024, just before the price of Ethereum fell 7.6%. Then, on August 20, 2024, this whale again moved 15,000 ETHs worth 39.7 million US Dollars (around Rp602 billion), which was followed by a price reduction of 2.5%.

Referring to the previous pattern, some analysts believe that this whale may have taken a strategic step by moving ETH to the stock exchange before prices declined. If this pattern is true, the recent large movement of ETH to Kraken could be a signal for investors to be aware of possible price corrections in the near future.

Currently, the whale still holds around 26,639 ETH, with an asset value of 69.7 million US Dollars (around Rp1.05 trillion). The total profit earned by this whale from its investment in ETH is estimated at around 132 million US Dollars (around Rp2 trillion), with an increase in value of more than 86%.

Although the large movement by this whale has attracted attention, the price of Ethereum itself has shown stability in recent weeks. Based on CoinMarketCap data, the current price of ETH is at 2,640 US Dollars (approximately IDR 40 million), recording a 1.93% increase in the past week, and a 13.43% spike in the last seven days.
