Update On COVID-19 As Of March 31: New Cases Of 5,937, Accumulated Of 1,511,712 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 71,440 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,937 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,511,712 people and 122,524 active cases," he quoted the Ministry of Health's data on Wednesday, March 31.

Today's cases increased by 5,635 cases, so that a total of 1,348,330 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 104 people and a total of 40,858 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 975 cases and a total of 250,282 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 965 new cases with a total of 382,055 cases. Banten has 950 new cases and a total of 37,759 cases. Then, Central Java has 497 new cases and a total of 168,810 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,184 cases recovered. Followed by Banten with an additional 1,000 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 722 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 667 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases was Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12,707,307.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 18.56 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 62,210 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 8,095,717 people have been vaccinated against the first dose of COVID-19 and 3,709,597 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40,349,051 people.
