Robting Anthony Joshua In Round 5, Daniel Dubois Patenkan Holds Heavyweight IBF Champion
JAKARTA Daniel "Dynamite" Dubois hit KO Anthony Joshua in the 5th round in the duel for the IBF version of the heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday, September 21, 2024 or Sunday morning in Indonesia. For this victory, Daniel Dubois officially became the real IBF champion after previously becoming the interim champion.
The 27-year-old British boxer's win came as a surprise, as he was not seeded. The betting market favored Joshua with 5:1, but Dubois broke all predictions with his win over gold winner at the 2012 London Olympics and the former 34-year-old world heavyweight champion twice.
"I am very happy because I have provided extraordinary entertainment for the audience. I am aployee, and will not give up until the last drop of blood. After this I will continue to try to succeed in achieving the highest throne, as a true champion. I will issue all the potential," Dubois said after his victory, as quoted by Reuters.
Dubois has set a high tempo since the first round. He immediately kicked off, and managed to get Joshua. But his much more experienced opponent was able to get up before referee Marcus McDonnell finished 10 counts.
The second and third rounds are still hell for Joshua, when Dubois punches again knocked him down. Again Joshua was still able to get up before referee McDonnell finished 10 counts. The fourth round again was Joshua's knockout, but this time the referee thought he slipped.

Until finally the fifth round became the determination. One Joshua blow was able to make Dubois limp, and retreat to the ring rope. Joshua chased him to put in another blow. But unexpectedly, one right counter hook Dubois hit Joshua's jaw. The former world champion collapsed without being able to rise again.
Daniel is a fast and strong opponent, and I made some mistakes. But that's the game, there are defeats and wins," said Joshua, a boxer who has played 13 world fights.
Joshua vs Dubois' duel at Wembley is claimed to be the biggest boxing show ever held between two British boxers in their own country. It is reported that 96 thousand spectators came to the legendary stadium.
Dubois has now set a record 22-2-0 (21 KO), while Joshua's record has worsened with 28-4-0 (25 KO). According to the plan, a rematch will be held between Dubois vs Joshua because there is a clause to do that.
