Ridwan Kamil's Strategy To Overcome Jakarta Floods, Makes 'Water Parks' In Bogor

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Governor's Candidate, Ridwan Kamil, said he had a strategy to prevent flooding. You do this by building a small dam in the Bogor area.

According to him, this strategy can be carried out if it gets approval from the DPRD regarding the budget.

"In the South, allow council members to approve the budget, we buy land in Bogor City, Bogor Regency to become small dams," said Ridwan Kamil in his remarks at the Golkar DPD Jakarta, Saturday, September 21.

The dam is said to function as temporary water parking before flowing to Jakarta. With the dam, it is considered to control water.

"Parkir air sebelum air datang mengalir ke Jakarta," sebutnya.

So far, there are already two dams in the Bogor area. It was made when Ridwan Kamil was Governor of West Java.

"Two dams have occurred, the names are Srimahi and Ciawi dams," said Ridwan Kamil.

Meanwhile, for flood control in the northern area of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil said that there was already a dam in the form of an area. Currently, the dam is considered quite effective in dealing with tidal flooding.

"Flooding in the north because of the sea, the president and the governor have prepared a dam, in the form of the dam area. That's what is called Giant Sea Wall," said Ridwan Kamil.
