Indonesia Showcases Medical Device Products In Latvia

JAKARTA - Indonesia made a new history with its first participation in the Medbaltica 2024 international exhibition, one of the most prestigious events in the health sector in the Baltic area which was held in Riga, Latvia, on 19-20 September 2024.

Through the facilitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Stockholm, nine Indonesian medical device companies that are members of the Indonesian Medical Device Manufacturers Association (ASPAKI) showcase their superior products and introduce Indonesian medical technology and innovation to the Eastern European market.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Sweden and Latvia Kamapradipta Isnomo in a written statement, Saturday, September 21, underlined the importance of Indonesia's participation in Medbaltica as a strategic step.

"Indonesia's participation in the 2024 Medbaltica is a historic step that opens the door for Indonesian medical device products to be able to compete in the international market," he said, quoted from Antara.

"This is an important moment for our manufacturers to market their products and build relationships with health industry players in Latvia and the Baltic region," he added.

In addition to displaying medical device products, the Indonesian delegation also took advantage of this opportunity to build strategic networks.

One of the important agendas is a meeting with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was held as a follow-up to the renewal of the MoU for the Cooperation between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the LCCI which was exchanged during the visit of the Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze to Indonesia on September 5, 2024.

During the meeting, the Indonesian delegation exchanged ideas about the potential market for medical devices in Latvia and how Indonesian products could play a role in it. The meeting also opened up opportunities for business collaboration and investment in the Indonesian health technology sector.

Discussions with LCCI and Latvian businessmen in the health sector are an important step in measuring the readiness of Indonesian products to enter the Latvian and Baltic markets.

Indonesian delegates have identified various opportunities for cooperation that can encourage deeper penetration in Eastern Europe, as well as open new distribution channels for Indonesian health products.
