Walkot admits that the gangster phenomenon in the city of Semarang is very disturbing to the public. Moreover, there are groups on social media with very many followers.
Hevearita emphasized that efforts to solve this gangster problem are not only the duty of the police, but all elements of society must participate in guarding.
The Semarang City Government, he said, would begin to inventory teenagers who are members of gangsters. In this case, his party will try to treat them so that they leave the group.
"The gangster emergency can be eradicated so that children can look back at the future," he said.
Meanwhile, Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol. Irwan Anwar said that the current gangster phenomenon was not merely delinquency, but was classified as criminality.
"If there is a crime, it means that there is a legal process, while their future is still long," he said.
